Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has ruled out recording sessions any time soon.

Noel Gallagher is the most successful songwriter of his generation, enjoying near global fame and colossal record sales. With Oasis behind him, millions of fans are waiting with baited breath for his next move.

Rumours emerged earlier this year which suggested that sessions had begun on a solo album, with Noel Gallagher seemingly eager to move on from Oasis. However in a new interview the songwriter has ruled out producing his debut album in 2010.

Speaking to BBC 6Music, the guitarist insisted that his hands will be used for changing nappies. "I'm moving house and my missus is nine months pregnant so I'm not doing anything until well into next year," he said. "I'll be doing nappies and all that malarkey."

Gallagher was speaking at the premiere of 'Blue Moon' a new documentary about the fans of Manchester City. The former Oasis man appears in the film, which follows seven loyal supporters across the course of a season.

The singer has done his best to keep a low profile in 2010. Noel Gallagher has played only two live shows, playing solo at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust series of concerts.

Rolling back the years, Noel Gallagher was joined by a handful of guests to play tracks from the Oasis back catalogue. Refusing to be drawn on the split, the singer nonetheless opened with the classic B-side 'It's Good (To Be Free)'.

Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher is continuing to work on his new project. Named Beady Eye, the group contain ex-members of Oasis and were rumoured to be working on their debut album earlier this year.

With summer coming to an end, Liam Gallagher is also preparing to launch the Autumn / Winter collection of his Pretty Green label.
