My friend and I arrived in Amsterdam, got the hotel and legged it down to the Arena. We had to buy the tickets. It was all so casual that was no real office just some guy with small tickets on thin paper. We stupidly believed we would be buying the last tickets. We could not believe, no sweat, he had loads, this was it we had the tickets. We jumped around like idiots. The gig had about 100 people in the place. It wasn't crammed. I remember you could get a drink and come back to watch Oasis without getting through the general melee there befalls every concert nowadays. We got there early , some non-descript band opened but behind them we could see the spiral union flag. Anyway the moment, they came on, I remember their clothes they seemed so normal but the presense was there. No smiles. My mate and I were right near the front it was hard to get there, you could have touched Liam or Noel if you were crazy like that, but you could. They blew us away. I remember you could close your eyes and it was like listening to the record, they played a blinder. There was some American guy next to me shouting 'play supersonic, play supersonic'. I just remember the rocking sound with Noel and Liam no thrills attitude. |
