Noel Gallagher - Listen Up was done in the same day as Fade away I think. Never played it live. No, we played it live once I think. Could never really get the pace of it right cos the last drummer that we had wasn't really up to much. The start sounds a bit like Live Forever and then the guitar riff from Supersonic comes in. Which is quite funny. It's another melancholic titled song about you know; 'Sailing down the river alone trying to find your way back home. And I don't believe in magic, but life is automatic.' It's all about being on your own. I don?t know if it?s an old one or if it was written specific for the single. But it sounds like an old one cos I was in a traveling phase then. Living in Manchester and living in London. |

Amazing track, 20/02/2007, by illinoize88 |
| I have always loved this song. Something that has recently struck me is how versatile this song is. It can be the all out rocking version of the B-side, it can be the stately version from MTV Unplugged, or it can be the pleading version from Noel's recent acoustic shows. I really hope they can sneak this somewhere into the set on the next tour, Liam doesn't even have to sing it. |
