And its never gonna be the same, 25/04/2007, by MrsOasis |
When I say this album saved my life, you got to believe me. I remember f***in hating my life, hating the world and hating who I was... UNTIL I heard this record.
After listening to it the mopey 15 year old I was, was gone. I was new and this record was the sound track. It came along at the perfect time, lots of kids were getting sick and tired of grunge music (like myself) and the messages it was sending. Until I heard morning glory I was unaware that people we still making positive music. Roll with it, Dont Look Back in Anger, She's Electric make you feel good, personally "Roll with It" gave me the guts and balls to think I was just as good as anyone else. And Champagne Supernova for me combined all the emotions I was feeling and basically what the whole record was about into one song.
While Definitley Maybe was like a pub brawl, Morning Glory was the day after, the emotions, the excitement, the pain, the thrill, again throwing you into a different kind of whirlwind
.
Oasis is made for living, you dont have to be drunk, stoned, or even highly intelligent to listen to their records, you just need to be living and breathing, and have a bit of heart. That is what I think (Whats the Story) Morning Glory? prosodies the most, the livably of Oasis. |

It achieved the impossible., 29/01/2007, by jinxy |
| It captured the mood and the spirit of nineties britain perfectly. It's a time and a place yet it hasn't dated one bit. You simply can't argue with an album that has achieved what this one did. DM may be held up as their best album, but this album made Oasis what they are. Liams voice sounds ten times better than it did on their debut, many of the songs have a romantism about them that can, and has, made large burly footy fans sob like a new-born babies. Blur were britpop, so were Suede, OCS, The Verve, and many others. Oasis transended that with this record. Don't Look Back In Anger is a momumental classic. Despite all the talk you here about every other album being "a classic", very few of them actually are. This album isn't just classic, it's ICONIC, from the track listing to the cover (which isn't even that good!). God bless 'em. Now they just have to top it! |
