Not their best but still brilliant!, 28/03/2011, by Oasisfangirl |
There are a couple dodgy songs on here but it is totally overshadowed by the quality of all the other songs.
Could beat any of records released now a days by a long shot. |

An Underrated Classic, 26/11/2008, by Toxodon |
I originally wrote this review for rateyourmusic.com
As everyone already knows, 'Be Here Now' was supposed to be the great follow-up to Oasis' first two masterpiece albums. As far as initial sales go it was a successful album but ended up being heavily criticized. The band was riding high (literally) off their success and did get a little too caught up in themselves. This album is, ironically, the reason I started listening to the band. 'D'You Know What I Mean?' was the first Oasis song that got me into the band (and the single was the first Oasis CD I ever bought, and, I still own the original copy). I tend to agree with Liam Gallagher more than Noel on this album. I do believe it is a "top record", just a little too long (Some songs could have been cut out such as 'Fade In-Out', 'The Girl In The Dirty Shirt', and the title track. For me, the songs 'My Big Mouth' and 'D'You Know What I Mean?' are the pinnacle of Oasis' coked-out arrogant rampage (and unlike many others, I f***ing love it). My favourite songs from this are D'You Know What I Mean?, Don't Go Away, Stand By Me, and My Big Mouth. |
